This past March, Live and Love in Color featured a post about Michelle Stephanie Dowell, and the launch of her hair accessories company, Ruffles Ribbons N’ Bows Boutique (then Ruffles, Ribbons and Bows). Since that time, Dowell, ever the ambitious entrepreneur, is selling those fabulous pieces online via Etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/RufflesRibbonsNBows.
As we chat by way of text, her joy is palpable. Currently, shoppers can find pieces which primarily cater to young girls, but that will change quickly, Dowell says, “Since we are just getting off the proverbial ground, our current boutique is tween and teen; [the] adult sections have not opened yet.”
“Rest assured that by the first week of July, we will have lots of hot frosting items [hair accessories] for older gals as well such as twilight fans, bling princesses, fancy flowers (types of hair pieces Dowell creates). We are going to have it all!”
What’s the best way to keep up with all the new developments? Customers should follow Ruffles Ribbons N’ Bows Boutique on Facebook, Twitter or the blog for updates and coupons. For Dowell, launching the business and taking control of her own destiny, is a lifelong dream fulfilled, in addition to achieving other goals of marriage and motherhood.
“Ruffles Ribbons N’ Bows Boutique allows for that [option] and more. I’m a girly-girl at heart, and making beautiful hair accessories for gals of all ages gives me a chance to really open up my ultra-feminine wings and fly.”
Before this blogger signs off, she remarks, “Offering sweet ‘hair frosting’ treats give me a sense of girl power.” I couldn’t have summarized Dowell’s ingenuity any better.
