Haiti is complex, a place of hope and despondency, promise and pain. My Mom recently traveled here with her church, and often speaks of the people’s endurance, their ingenuity despite abject poverty.
When I look at Anthony McKissic’s work, I see all of this and more. His new photography exhibit opens Thursday, July 11 from 6-9pm at Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center (847 N. Howard St. Balt., MD 21201). So grab your keys, and head to this free event! We are sure the work will enrich and inspire you.
