Few singers voices transport us back to another time while simultaneously propelling us forward, Cécile McLorin Salvant is such a talent. She sings with an ethereal grace and sense of grounded energy that belie her age.
A few weeks ago I discovered her music on iTunes and started listening much more intensely recently. She reminds me of the elegant ladies of jazz, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, but she’s unapologetically herself, funky vintage glasses and short cropped natural hair.
Enjoy, darlings! Do tell us what fabulous music you adore right now.
