Are you over auto-tunes and studio artists? I stopped listening to commercial radio years ago. Give me the authenticity of genuine performers any day. It’s why I love Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, a band effortlessly blending nostalgia of the mid 1960s and 1970s, with their own sensibilities.
They make kick-your-shoes off and party-hard kind of music. It’s an auditory feast, fusing gospel, jazz, and classic rhythm and blues. Their fifth album hits stores on January 14, and this blogger cannot wait.
Go ahead, enjoy, y’all; turn it all the way up. You can let those Monday blues go, starting now.
