Mother, wife, sister, friend, writer / blogger / creative organizer, budding photographer... These are just a few of the many hats I juggle each day. I believe creativity is oxygen for the soul. I created Live In Color blog to celebrate the beauty in every moment, from faith to inspiration and motherhood.And it is soon becoming Pray with Our Feet blog which will focus on the intersection of faith and activism. Authentic music is oxygen for me. Discovering a phenomenal artist becomes an all engrossing love. I pour through their songs on YouTube, walk around with ear plugs, humming, moving, bathing in the rhythm of their words. Emeli Sandé, the petite British powerhouse, is a new favorite.

“My Kind of Love,” her melodic testament to strength and the caliber of love which shows up just as struggle begins leaves us to question ourselves.

Do we have what it takes to love boldly, when it’s uncomfortable and arduous? Is our love self absorbed or altruistic?

The essence of lines like these linger long after the beat stops:

“Cause when you’ve given up, when no matter what you do it’s never good enough;
When you never thought that it could ever get this tough, that’s when you feel my kind of love.

And when you’re crying out;
When you fall, and then can’t pick your happy off the ground.
When the friends you thought you had haven’t stuck around,
that’s when you feel my kind of love.”
